And talking about learning foreign language, the best way to do it is like you learn your own - by talking to people and reading books in that language. And from these sources you learn to use words properly in their right context. There's a part in the language test that checks your knowledge, it's called Use of English And there you may see questions like which word should be used in the sentence out of expect, assume etc.
