We were practising with Franta for half an hour on Monday instead of our regular training in our dormitories. And one idea came to my mind. Can you tell me Tetyana how you are thinking about exercise? I mean. You have some schedule and you are creating exercises accoring it? How much do you improvising? What would you recomend us for this type of ´´external´´ training? We were trying to repeat things what we knew, but it usually end with improvisation. Is it good if we don´t have specific aim?   |

Haveunique писал(а): | Martin, the program we follow is on the website.
Aimless training is useless... choose one element and work on it. Make sure you follow all the Wing Chun principles. But - how do you know what you do is correct? |
To your question Tetyana. This is the problem. How can we know if we are doing things right. We are begginers and we don´t have lot of experience.
Only thing what same to my mind it that if we will have task we can measure if we reach it and if now what to should do to improve it.
What do you think, which tasks are good to start with?   |

Haveunique писал(а): | Martin, thank you, relaxation and awareness are the starting points. In Wing Chun technique, work on applying principles at all times. For this you need relaxation and awareness =) |
I understand, but it came to my mind. You are suggesting to work on general things wouldn´t be better to work on something specific and easy so even we can be sure that what we are doing is right?   |

Work on your steps Draw a square and work on your footwork. That's what I do from time to time.
Another thing, do First Form.   _________________ What doesn't destroy me, makes me stronger. - F. Nietzshe

Thank you, Gra-ach (Ira), those can be starting points for sure, and for you if you chose them The importance is what you work on - technique or inner state, or are you able to tackle both already.
Martin, what you call "general" is more specific than you think. What Ira suggested are elements of technique. What is primary for us now is balanced inner state, which should be trained as a priority. Two elements of inner state are - awareness and relaxation.
When do you know you do things right? This is a very important question for you, Martin. Finding the answer should help you move on.   _________________ Не пытайся - делай.

Thank you for all your suggestions. I will try to do this thing with square.
I think that I´m able to consider my mistakes retrospectively, after I will realized that I was doing mistakes. I will see it or after some improvments. I don´t see better options so far. It came to my mind again that with this phylosophy I can improve all my life.   |

You know, after one of the seminars with SiFu I asked a question that I get winded after falling a lot and that it's hard for me to stand up. Of course he made me do 5-10 falls and then said to do a First Form. It was kinda hard because my knees were not supporting my weight and my hands were trembling... But when I got to the fast part I cought myself that my breathing became easy and all the tension was gone!
And from that point on every time I do the First Form I relax in my head, become grounded, I forget about everything else and enjoy inner silence and peace. It's hard to describe, but apart from obvious physical effect it has lasting effect on my psyche. So in a way I'm working with my inner state through my body.   _________________ What doesn't destroy me, makes me stronger. - F. Nietzshe

I don't know how you feel about training at your own home, but I find it difficult to consentrate there. I usually have either unfinished projects on my table, or dishes in the kitchen to keep me busy. When I have them in my sight, I don't feel like training. But going outside, or anywhere else is good: then I can focus on the exercises. Better yet, if I have traveled far away from home, and have only limited time to work.   _________________ "As you think, so shall you become." - Bruce Lee

All I can say, where there is a will, there is a way I have been training in quite some unexpected places and it all had to do with the fact that I NEEDED to train and the HOW to do it is always a secondary question How has it been with the surrounding for individual training lately, Milla?   _________________ Не пытайся - делай.

While I have been traveling, I have trained in quite unexpected places, too. When I am consentrating on the training, surrounding blur away and the place does not matter anymore, but if there are distractions it makes things complicated. I have noticed that I need to have motivation for training or else it wont work. So it's not just about the outside surroundings, but the inside surroundings as well.   _________________ "As you think, so shall you become." - Bruce Lee
