I saw a link to The Grandmaster movie on my youtube wall so decided do some digging into the topic.

I watched all three Ip Man movies before I joined the Academy and it actually was not the reason for joining I learnt that Ip Man was showing Wing Chun few months after I started training. And then I watched it again to see that it's actually true and he uses Wing Chun, though his form looks kinda strange

I have seen only the first Yip Man movie, and it was quite nice. I was surpriced to spot one Pak Sao or something very much like it, but otherwise I didn't regognise the moves.

Quite wierd that they'd call the foutrh one a Yip Man Movie, if it's mainly on Bruce Lee, though. :D The video looks a lot like Bruce Lee My Brother, from two years back, are they the same movie?

For me was this movie at the beginning of my Wing Chun training. I saw it when I didn't know much about it but after four months it´s nice to see it again and see more sence in it not just sort of Hollywood fighting. For me is the best first one and then it goes down by every new film.

This movie was like last cherry on the cake for me when I was thinking about starting with kung-fu. During my young life I tried many matrial arts but kung fu was for me still like book which I have never opened. Why I was few last years just thinking about kung-fu but not practising is another story......Thanks to Ip man movie I started to look for some possibility to start.

All three movies are very interesting, about story and also about matrial art! I had seen them before I started to practise wing chun it is 6 months ago, so I am looking forward to see them again

I have question on you. Do you have any others films about martial art (all kinds) which you would like to recommend? I think is not so easy to find good one, where is not just fight but it´s based on real martial art or it have different idae. If there will be lot of respons I cen crate new topic, but so far I will post in under Ip Man. After all it´s clasic example of good movie. Thank you.

Received a newsletter form the New York Times today and it contained a review for The Grandmaster:
