But, Tetyana, isn't realization of the problem at least something? I do agree that it's only the beginning of the journey, but it's not given that one can have even that.

Fair point, Milla, but when one realizes an issue it stops being an issue Cool And how do you define a problem? Thanks!

What do you mean that an issue stops to be an issue, if it is noticed?

By problems I mean things seen negative, wanted to correct. Probably should speak about issues myself Smile

Well, once you realize what you need to work on, it becomes a task. A problem is something like when a person doesn't have legs... even there some make it into a task and solve it. Like paralympic games participants. So you're right, it's the matter of attitude.

If I understood you right, an issue turns into a task once you notice what you need to do about it?

Problems and task are both to be solved, I think, but the matter is about the attitude toward it: A task is just something you want or need to do, but a problem is something more like must-get-rid-of-because-it's-horrible thing.

To my mind, this

sooner or later turns into a set of tasks to do Smile Smile

I have noticed that if I have a lot to do, it takes time from doing if I plan too much what I need to do next. But in the other hand I feel that I am not efficient enough if I only do one thing at a time. And sometimes I may keep thinking if I had done it good enough, even when I am already doing some other task.

To be effcient with my tasks, I would need to concentrate on one at the time. I don't think I can own the time I have, it's given to me, and I cannot control the distractions, but I can do what I do in the situations, and how the distractions affect me.

This said, its still a challenge. Smile

All time-management starts and ends with purpose... Just read an article, not in English, about concentration camps tactics. One definition of over-stressing is over-focusing in the present so much that past and future stops existing. Keeping in mind a future goal helped some prisoners find meaning in their current situations, survive and use their experience for future generations. Thus any time spending is the matter of balance between focusing and keeping in mind the ultimate goal.

Interesting point Tetyana, thank you. But, doesn't the past have a place in the eqilibrium? It's important to know where we have been, right?

Yes, of course, and what matters is how we use it. Future goals give us direction of life, what do you think the past is for?

My opinion - for learning and collecting happy moments, to aim better in the future.

Past is indeed the stock of information, and it works as a base for learning. I wouldn't say it was for collecting good memories, however.

Don't get me wrong, collecting happy moments can be a good thing, but the moments become happy or unhapy depending on the angle of the approach to the memory. The feeling of happiness is not does the memory itself, but the frame it is given at the time point, and so it is not a matter of the past, but that of the present.

Good point, Milla! So I am up to collecting moments that are happy even when time passes. This process depends on each of us, so there is a lot we can do.

I've noticed that even when I'm doing something else, my mind keeps thinking on another problem in background. I mean to say that I'm 95% in the task at hand without getting distracted by something or someone else, but other 5% are focused on something else and when I finish doing one thing and start doing something else I may already have a solution or a good idea of what I'm going to do next.

And about thinking what you could have done better, differently... There's no point in it, I think. What's done is done Smile And all your fretting about it won't allow you to go back in time and change things. Of course, you may decide to change something you still can influence, but usually there's no point in this too. But you can remember it and next time use your knowledge to make another decision Wink

That is a great tool, if you know how to balance it the way the tasks do not distract one another. With that you can have a sense of direction, and not just separate tasks, thanks Irene!

That is a great way to sum it up, thank you Tetyana!
