Because words work like magic, let's share poems for learning and discussion.
Let's start with this one from Tao Te Ching (poem fifty-six):
Цитата: | Those who know do not talk.
Those who talk do not know.
Close your mouth.
Guard your senses.
Temper your sharpness.
Simplify your problems.
Mask your brightness.
Be at one with the dust and the earth.
This is primal union.
Those who have achieved this state
Do not distinguish between friends and enemies,
Between good and harm, between honor and disgrace.
This is the highest state of being. |
What do you think?
For me, this poem shows a set of actions to stay humble with who I am.   _________________ "As you think, so shall you become." - Bruce Lee

There is one Finnish haiku I find insightful. Translated to English it goes like this:
Цитата: | A way of life
gives us even
the colour of our hair. |
The original poem is by Jari Lompolo.   _________________ "As you think, so shall you become." - Bruce Lee

First one is interesting. Though I do not agree with some points
For ex.: mask your brightness.
Look like advice for spies.   _________________ Вячеслав Мащенко   |

Good point, vmashchenko.
The Cambridge dictionary defines masking like this: 'to prevent something from being seen or noticed.'
I think there is no point to think if I am bright or not. So, to prevent someone from seeing it would be indeed unnecessary.   _________________ "As you think, so shall you become." - Bruce Lee

How ever, I think the more important question is who do you mask the brightness from.   _________________ "As you think, so shall you become." - Bruce Lee
